ROBERT L. JOHNSON, MC, MCAP, CMHP, CST: Robert has specialized training in sexuality, trauma informed therapies, criminal justice, and psychodynamic family of origin issues. Robert has served in various capacities within the chemical dependency and mental health field beginning with his work at Behavioral Health of Baton Rouge working with adolescents and their families. Robert's position as a primary psychotherapist for the well-known Sierra Tucson's Sexual Recovery Program allowed him to develop and refine his skills in this critical area of treatment. He specializes in facilitating groups for sexual concerns and childhood traumas. Never to shy away from challenges, Robert also worked with juvenile sex offenders as the program’s clinical director when he lived in the state of Washington. Robert worked at Caron Renaissance for over 25 years and has served as a Primary Therapist, Director of Family and Specialty Services, and ended his tenure as the Clinical Director, hence honing his clinical, supervisory, and networking skills. Robert was also the National Clinical Director of Hopestreet Treatment, LLC, an all-virtual program, with locations in New Jersey, Nevada, California, and Florida. Most recently, Robert served as the Clinical Site Director and Director of Admissions of The Dorm in Washington, DC, a center that caters to a young adult population of 18-30 year olds, with much focus on anxiety, mood disorders, ASD, ADHD, OCD, and other mental and behavioral health issues. Robert also has a clinical and executive coaching private practice called Safe Dove Retreat, LLC (virtually and in-person locally). Robert has enhanced his abilities through years of training in many different therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to Psychodrama Training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Focused Expressive Psychotherapy Training, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Rogerian Therapy. Robert is also a Certified Trauma Therapist (CTT), a Licensed-Certified Mental Health Professional (CMHP), and a Board-Certified Sex Therapist (CST). Robert holds and/or has held various certifications and licenses in Florida, Arizona, Washington, Louisiana, New Jersey, nationally, and internationally, and has expertise in mental health, multicultural, process addictions, and forensic counseling. Robert is highly adept and extremely sensitive regarding confidentiality and privacy as he has worked with high profiles and high net-worth clientele. Among his many accomplishments, he is a Diplomate and Board-Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and a member of the American Association for Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. Robert also served our country with the U.S. Marine Corps (1980-1986) and was honorably discharged.
